Is a Zigbee Hub required?
Yes, the Near magnetic track lighting system operates on the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, and hence, you will need a Zigbee Hub in order to pair them with the App. This allows you to control and customize your lights remotely, offering you convenience and flexibility in managing your lighting preferences. Our magnetic lights are compatible with both our Zigbee Hub Air & Homekit Hubs.
Can the magnetic light track be cut to fit specific lengths?
Yes, that's what makes magnetic track lights so flexible. While attempting to customize the tracks, ensure that the busbars are not damaged or cracked during the cutting process. You can remove them to be cut separately to minimize workmanship mistakes.
Will my warranty for the magnetic track light be voided if we cut the tracks?
Once the tracks are tempered with, warranty is automatically voided by default. However, our team is here to help. If you face any issues with the magnetic light tracks, please reach out to our customer support via whatsapp message at: +65 9727 1719.
Does Near provide installation services for the magnetic tracks ?
No. As a lighting retailer, we do not have an in-house electrician as we only supply the materials. However, general electricians should be familiar with the installation of magnetic light tracks due to the product's popularity in Singapore. To be sure, it will be best to check before engaging one.
How to pick the right transformer to power the magnetic lights?
V = Voltage, W = Wattage.
Voltage
Select a corresponding voltage to the LED strip. Since Near magnetic LED modules are 48V, select a 48V transformer.
Wattage
The magnetic track light LED modules come in different wattages. To know which wattage to choose, simply add the wattages of the different modules together.
Example: If you are installing 5x 18W Linear flood module, 3 x 9W Cylinder Pendant module, 1x 9W Tracklight module.
Total Wattage: (5 x 18W) + (3 x 9W) + (1 x 9W) = 126W
Pick a transformer that has 15% more power capacity to ensure the longevity of the lighting modules: 126 x 1.15 = 144.9W. Since there are no 144.9W transformers, you can opt for the 150W transformer.
Does Near smart magnetic light track conform to the "standard" track size (width) in the local market?
While magnetic light tracks may look similar in width, variations do exist among different suppliers. We do not guarantee that our tracks will be able to fit magnetic lights from other brands in Singapore.
