These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the website operated by Near SG Pte Ltd (“Near”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Your use of this website is subject to these Terms.
These Terms relate primarily to the website and general information made available through it.
Where you purchase products or engage Near for a project, additional project-specific terms may be contained in our quotation, invoice, order confirmation or other written agreement.

2. Purpose of this website
This website provides general information about:
- Near;
- our lighting products;
- our approach to whole-home lighting;
- our project process;
- product support;
- the Near Lighting Planner; and
- ways to contact us.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, information provided on this website is general information and does not by itself constitute:
- a quotation;
- a confirmed order;
- an offer to supply particular goods or services on specified terms;
- a confirmed specification for a particular project;
- electrical advice;
- engineering advice;
- architectural advice; or
- a binding agreement for the supply of products or services.
3. Starting a project
Submitting a floor plan, contacting Near, requesting information, receiving an initial response or attending a showroom review does not by itself create a contract for the supply of goods or services.
Where Near agrees to proceed with a project, the applicable:
- project scope;
- products;
- quantities;
- specifications;
- prices;
- payment requirements;
- delivery arrangements; and
- other commercial conditions
will be set out in the relevant quotation, invoice, order confirmation or other written agreement.
If there is an inconsistency between general information on this website and a project-specific quotation or written confirmation issued by Near, the project-specific document will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
4. Near's scope
Near focuses on the planning and supply of lighting products for complete residential lighting projects.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, Near does not provide:
- electrical installation;
- electrical rewiring;
- general renovation works;
- interior-design services;
- architectural services;
- structural works;
- general renovation project management;
- standalone lighting plans without the associated product-supply project; or
- individual fixture retail outside Near's project model.
Electrical installation and other site electrical works are to be carried out by the customer's appointed appropriately qualified electrician or contractor, where applicable.
5. Information provided by the customer
Near prepares lighting proposals and product quotations using information supplied by the customer and, where applicable, other parties involved in the project.
This information may include:
- floor plans;
- furniture layouts;
- room dimensions;
- reflected ceiling plans;
- lighting plans;
- interior drawings;
- renders;
- carpentry information;
- ceiling information; and
- other relevant project information.
Customers are responsible for providing information that is reasonably accurate and complete.
Customers should inform Near of material changes to a project that could affect the lighting proposal or products supplied, including changes to:
- ceiling layouts;
- ceiling heights;
- room dimensions;
- furniture placement;
- carpentry;
- electrical points;
- interior finishes;
- intended use of a space; or
- other relevant site conditions.
Actual completed site conditions may differ from drawings, plans or renders.
6. Lighting proposals
Near's lighting proposals are prepared for the relevant residential project based on information available to us at the time.
Lighting performance and appearance may be affected by factors including:
- dimensions;
- ceiling height;
- fixture placement;
- fixture optics;
- beam angle;
- surface colours;
- material reflectance;
- furniture;
- daylight;
- ambient lighting;
- installation conditions;
- control settings; and
- final site conditions.
A lighting proposal should therefore be considered together with the actual products specified and the conditions of the individual project.
7. Product information
Near takes reasonable care to present product information accurately.
However:
- specifications may be updated or refined over time;
- product availability may change;
- finishes and colours displayed on a screen may differ from physical products;
- photographs and digital renders may not reproduce colour, brightness or scale exactly;
- product compatibility may depend on the particular project configuration; and
- accessories, drivers or control equipment may vary according to the products specified.
For a confirmed project, customers should refer to the applicable quotation, product specification, order documentation or written confirmation provided by Near.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under Singapore law.
8. Visual references and colour temperature
Photographs, renders, animations, colour-temperature demonstrations and other visual materials on this website are illustrative.
The perceived appearance of lighting can vary significantly depending on factors including:
- room size;
- ceiling height;
- fixture output;
- beam characteristics;
- fixture position;
- dimming level;
- wall and ceiling colour;
- surface reflectance;
- furniture;
- daylight;
- ambient light;
- camera settings;
- image processing; and
- screen calibration.
Visual material on the website should not be understood as a guarantee that another room or completed project will appear exactly the same.
9. Lighting Planner Beta
Where the Near website provides the Lighting Planner or another calculation, visualisation or planning tool, its output is provided for general informational and exploratory purposes.
The Lighting Planner provides a simplified estimate and does not necessarily model every factor affecting real-world lighting conditions.
Factors that may not be fully modelled include:
- detailed fixture photometry;
- beam distribution;
- surface reflectance;
- daylight;
- obstructions;
- furniture;
- task-plane conditions;
- installation variation; and
- other site-specific factors.
The Lighting Planner does not replace a project-specific lighting proposal.
It should not be relied upon as professional electrical, engineering, architectural or safety advice.
10. Smart lighting and third-party technology
Certain Near products may be compatible with third-party applications, wireless standards, internet services, voice assistants or other technology platforms.
The availability or performance of such functionality may depend on factors outside Near's control, including:
- compatible hardware;
- customer network conditions;
- internet connectivity;
- mobile operating systems;
- third-party applications;
- third-party servers;
- firmware;
- software updates;
- platform updates; and
- changes made by third-party providers.
Near does not control third-party platforms and cannot guarantee that third-party functionality will remain permanently available, unchanged or compatible with every future version of third-party software or hardware.
Any specific compatibility stated for a confirmed product or project should be read together with the applicable product information and project documentation.
11. Installation
Lighting products should be installed in accordance with applicable product instructions and by appropriately qualified persons where required.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, Near does not provide electrical installation.
Near is not responsible for the performance, workmanship or conduct of an electrician, contractor, interior designer or other independent third party appointed by the customer.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
12. Orders, prices and payment
Product prices, quantities, payment requirements and other commercial terms for a project are governed by the applicable quotation, invoice, order confirmation or other written agreement.
Website content does not itself guarantee:
- a particular price;
- stock availability;
- a delivery date;
- reservation of stock; or
- acceptance of an order.
An order is subject to Near's applicable written confirmation and payment requirements.
13. Delivery, changes, exchanges and warranty
Delivery arrangements, changes to confirmed orders, exchanges and warranty coverage are subject to the terms applicable to the relevant transaction or product.
Where separate Near delivery, exchange or warranty terms are provided for a confirmed order, those terms should be read together with the quotation, invoice or order confirmation.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict rights or remedies that a consumer may have under applicable Singapore law.
14. Customer-submitted materials
You retain ownership of floor plans, interior drawings, renders and other materials that you provide to Near to the extent that you hold rights in those materials.
By supplying such material to Near, you confirm that you are authorised to provide it for the relevant project.
You permit Near to use the submitted material to the extent reasonably necessary to:
- review the project;
- prepare a proposal;
- prepare a quotation;
- specify products;
- administer an order;
- coordinate product supply;
- provide support; and
- maintain appropriate project records.
Providing project materials does not by itself grant Near permission to publish identifiable private project materials for advertising or marketing purposes.
