What are they key differences between The Linear System & Near's Wi-Fi light strip kits?
The Near Wi-Fi light strip kits such as the gradient and the LightStrip are designed for decorative purposes, these kits can easily be set up without the need for a hub.
The linear system is an architectural lighting solution. With the ability to be powered by a lighting point, you won't need to rely on power outlets. This system can be used in various ways, from recessed to surface linear downlights. Plus, our linear system offers a wide variety of light strip options to meet your home's unique lighting needs, whether it's brighter lighting or slim undershelf lighting.
Can the 5050 All Colour light strip extend using the same straight connector as the Wi-Fi 2M LightStrip Kit?
Yes.
The 6 pin connector can be used to extend the 5050 All Colour light strip. For an easier and more reliable installation, we suggest using Near's soldering services instead of relying solely on the 6 pin connector to extend the 5050 All Colour light strip for architectural lighting purposes.
What is the maximum capacity of the Near Zigbee controller?
72W per channel.
Each channel supports a maximum of 72W. For instance, if your light strip comprises three wires, it will typically consume 2 channels, as the "V+" channel is excluded. This means you can connect up to 144W of light strip. If all channels are used, you can connect up to 360W of light strip.
Is it possible to connect multiple reels of LED strip lights to the Near Zigbee controller?
Yes.
Please make sure that the combined wattage of the LED strips connected to the Zigbee controller does not surpass the specified limit of 72W per channel. Additionally, it is crucial to avoid installing different types of led strips on the same Zigbee controller.
Is it possible to connect 2 or more Near Zigbee controllers with one transformer?
Yes.
By ensuring that the total wattage consumed on each channel of the Zigbee controller remains within the specified limits of 72W and the overall wattage of the light strip does not exceed 85% of the transformer's wattage, this configuration will function properly.
Is The Linear System compatible with the HomeKit Hub?
Yes.
The Zigbee controller for the Linear System is compatible with the Near HomeKit Hub with the latest 1.7.0 firmware.
What protocol does The Linear System operate on?
Zigbee 3.0
The Linear System is controlled with the Near app by pairing with the Near Zigbee Controller.
Magnetic Track Lights
Magnetic Track Lights Frequently Asked Questions.
How do I reset the magnetic track light modules for pairing?
On-Off 8x
To reset the magnetic track module to enter pairing mode, switch it on and off 8 times on the track directly using its built-in button or your wall switch.
Note:
Please remember that resetting via the wall switch can cause the entire magnetic track system to reset.
We recommend resetting the magnetic track module with its built-in button if it is only one to two pieces.
Should I replace just the LED driver or the entire set if the Module is faulty?
Module & Driver only.
If you experience any product issues, please reach out to our customer support team at support@near.sg. In most cases, we will happily replace the entire set through a one-to-one exchange. Please have the faulty module and driver ready for exchange, without the housing/frame.
Can the magnetic track be cut without voiding the warranty? Are you able to provide this service?
Please note that we do not offer track cutting services. This task should be undertaken by a licensed electrician. For the best results, it is recommended to use a sharp blade with a circular saw machine. It is important to be aware that cutting the track will void the warranty. However, rest assured that we have never encountered a situation where a shortened magnetic track becomes faulty.
Is there a standardization of magnetic tracks in the industry, and is it possible to interchange the light module of a magnetic track with one from another brand in the future?
Finding magnetic tracks that closely resemble our dimensions is possible. However, the internal components of these tracks may have varying designs, such as differences in the height of copper lines or the positioning of the metal plate for magnetic module attachment. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the availability of a completely compatible replacement module for the Near magnetic track system in the market.

Why is The LightStrip bare? (No Rubber Coating)
The LightStrip is Near's official LED strip lighting solution. In order to create a truly versatile product, The LightStrip was made bare so that it can be installed in linear profiles without drastically reducing brightness and causing obvious dark spots.
